FAQ
We look forward to meeting you at the clinic and supporting your goals to calm, clear, smooth or maintain your skin. The following information is to enable you to have many questions answered before you arrive.
Where is the clinic?
95-97 Hornby Street, Windsor, Victoria 3181, Australia. Our central location is close to the intersection of High St and Chapel St. and easily accessible via public transport. The area is known for its great shops and cafes nearby, so if you are running ahead of time or after your appointment you can explore them or enjoy a coffee.
Is car parking available?
We do not have have any on site parking, but there are car parks always available. We do recommend allowing extra time to both locate a parking and then walk to the clinic, and taking careful note of the time allowed on signage to avoid a parking fine.
Do I have to be having a treatment to buy skincare from the clinic? Anyone is welcome to purchase our retail products without an appointment. We stock a variety of the most advanced cosmeceutical skincare brands. Mostly Australian owned and made, these innovative brands offer formulations that are exceptional in their concentration and effectiveness. Brands include : Lab 11, Second Baise mineral foundations, Nata, Apect Dr., Cosmedex, ZO Skin Health.
Appointment times.
If it's your first visit, please arrive about 15 minutes earlier so as to to fill in a new client form. If your appointment involves the skin of your face please leave it free of makeup which will otherwise need removal for examination and / or treatment.
Can a consultation be provided over the phone or via videocall instead of in-clinic?
We offer different types of consultations. An ‘Express Consultation” is strictly 15 minutes and complimentary, and is to provide answers to questions that cannot be advertised. It can be done in person or virtually. This is not the same as an assessment appointment which must be done in person. In order to provide a professional consultation which includes a clear skin assessment we need clients to be physically present. Videocall does not facilitate examination of the skin.
Do the clinic's treatments give long-lasting or permanent results?
Depending on the specific treatment and individual responses outcomes will vary, and our staff will thoroughly discuss details during consultations to ensure clients are fully informed. Some treatments benefit markedly from pre-care as well as following the aftercare instructions.
Can I see results of your actual clients? Depending on the specific treatment we may be able to show these on the website and on social media. However, most clients do not want their before and after photographs publicly displayed, and some treatments are no longer allowed to be used online or in any way outside a private consultation as they have been performed with prescription only substances. See further information below.
Can the non-medical staff answer any direct questions from potential or existing clients about cosmetic injectables that are not specified on this website? Or their prices?
No. Non-medical staff are not permitted to do so. New TGA regulations state that this may be only done in a private in-person consultation with one of our practitioners.
Why can’t I see exactly what cosmetic injectables may be available in treatments anymore?
Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and Ahpra have updated requirements on advertising for health practitioners and providers of regulated health services. This effects websites, social media posts, pamphlets and fliers - anything that could be deemed as advertising.
In short, this has changed rules for the promotion of services and any prescription-only medicines that are used in some - but not all - cosmetic injectables, which typically are to immobilize a muscle or to act as a filler. Any injectables containing substances that are in Schedule 4 to the Poisons Standard cannot be advertised to the public. Websites are regarded as an advertising platform. This however does not apply to those cosmetic injectables that don’t contain any prescription-only substances. Many Australian businesses are still adjusting their content that may have been made over many years.
Therefore, we can only nominate the types of formal consultations that are available, and then within the consultations include specifics through educational and non-promotional information to clients, and if requested, include pricing details. The information shared between the practitioner and their client / patient during the consultation is exempt from the restriction and not regarded as advertising. There is the requirement that information that is purely factual, balanced in setting out the risks and benefits and detail any prior requirements and after-care instructions. We welcome these changes to ensure clients are fully informed and never feel pressured.
We fully support the aim of ensuring that information about all medical treatments is complete, accurate, ethical and not misleading by exaggerating the benefits or downplaying risks associated with aesthetic treatments including injectables and devices for use in altering the body’s appearance.
